Sparks is: Marriage record from Greene County, Indiana, that states he married Lucinda Bland Nov. 8, 1887, and lists his parents names as Charles Sparks and Aney Russel. John's mother's name was not very clear, so I checked the marriage record of his 2 brothers, George Mitchel and William Henry Sparks. They both list their mother's name as Ann Russel. The story goes that when people began taking surnames from their occupations, there might have been a man who was a falconer. One of the favorite falcons was the Sparrowhawk being the swiftest and most true. This man's name might have became Sparrowhawk.
